Publishing House

School of Law and Public Administration has its own publishing house. So far 128 items have been published. The works are strictly connected with the School curriculum and are didactic aids for students.

Some handbooks published by SLPA have become used in Poland-wide, e.g. a handbook on the general part of civil law (by J. Gajda, Z. Gawlik, ed. S. Wójcik), a handbook devoted to executive administrative proceedings and before the Supreme Administrative Court (by L. Żukowski, R. Sawuła).

The following works prepared by SLPA are well appreciated in Poland:

  • „Administracja publiczna u progu XXI wieku. Prace dedykowane prof. zw. dr hab. Janowi Szreniawskiemu z okazji jubileuszu 45–lecia pracy naukowej” [„Public Administration at the Threshold of the 21st Century. Works dedicated to Prof. Dr Jan Szreniawski on the occasion of His jubilee of 45 years of scientific work”], 2000;
  • „Aktualne problemy administracji i prawa administracyjnego” [Current Issues of Administration and Administrative Law”] ed. J. Posłuszny, 2003.

In both items there are works of the most outstanding representatives of science on administration and administrative law.

Within their tuition fee students receive selected handbooks, prepared by their teachers, published by the SLPA Publishing House. In the last academic year over 15,500 copies were distributed.

SLPA also publishes monographs by its employees. They concern, e.g. issues related to local government, elections. They also include entrepreneurship issues. So far 16 monographs have been published.

Moreover, papers presented during conferences (both international and all-Polish) organized by SLPA are published as scientific booklets. The subject matter of the booklets concerns, e.g. issues related to local government in Poland and Ukraine, development of local governments in these States, relations between Poland and Ukraine, or issues concerning comprehensive economic problems. So far 14 scientific booklets have been published.

The School also publishes results of scientific research carried out by its employees. As examples we can quote reports from the research devoted to legal and social aspects of local government operation, and entrepreneurship in the process of local government operation.
